Meaning
In Indian office English, “revert” is often used to mean “reply”. In standard English, it means “go back to an earlier state”.
हिंदी अर्थ
भारतीय ऑफ़िस में “revert” को अक्सर “जवाब देना” के अर्थ में लिखा जाता है; मानक अंग्रेज़ी में इसका अर्थ “पहले की स्थिति में लौटना” है।
When to use it
Use “reply” or “get back to you” with global colleagues; keep “revert” for going back to an earlier version.
Examples
1. Please get back to me by Friday. (clearer than “Please revert by Friday.”)

2. We reverted the website to the old design after the error.

💡 Tip: Never write “revert back”: “revert” already means “go back”.
